Something I Remembered…

Wha?

Do you remember…

Say what? Chicken butt!

That always used to make me laugh when I was a kid.

My friend Katie used to have a phrase she would say in University whenever someone said the word crazy. It always made me laugh. Check it out…

Crazy?
I was crazy once.
They put me in a little rubber room.
I died there.
The worms crawled in and out of my brain.
It drove me crazy.
Crazy?
I was crazy once…

This popped into my head a little while ago when I was chatting with her. I’ve been meaning to post it since.

Do you have any phrases like that? Please share…

  1. “This is the song that never ends… It just goes on and on my friend…”

How about some good ol’ Lamb Chops??

  2. When I’m frustrated and I can’t cuss (read: at work or with Braeden), I say, “crap a dizzy duck”.

I have no idea where it came from, or what it means, but it makes me laugh every time, which helps with the frustration.

  3. My step father used to respond to someone saying “Well…” with a very irritating “Mighty deep subject for someone so shallow!”.

But you reminded me of a rhyme we used to say as children that I never hear anymore. Perhaps there is a reason. It was silly.

One dark day in the middle of the night
two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
drew their swords and shot each other.
When the deaf man heard the noise,
he got up and shot the two dead boys.
If you don’t believe this story is true,
ask the blind man – he saw it, too!

See? Told you it was silly. But thank you for the memory!
    ;)t

  4. I’m always saying “let’s not and say we did” when someone suggests something I don’t want to do (i.e. cleaning, bungee jumping, etc.)

  5. Why? Chicken thigh!

  6. Terri – we said that one too!

Whenever someone says “So…?” I say “Sew buttons on socks.”

Why? Because it’s strange and ridiculous, and that is me!

Nice thread, Jorge… This’ll definitely be a nostalgia game. 🙂

  7. Someone brought back “Smooth move, Ex-Lax!” in front of me about five years ago, and even since I seem to break that out on at least a quarterly basis.

  8. Arrgh, my wife sings the song that never ends. And you know what … it never ends.

  10. Terri…

I say that one all the time…

How about a tongue twister… does that count.

How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

(Thinking of good Pee Wee, good Pee Wee)and believe it or not I described one of my friends as “He’s a howl” (and I curled up on my desk and wanted to die right then and there)
