Leggo My Birthday!

Leggo My Wino

Mrs. J and I headed over to Niagara-On-The-Lake this past weekend.

Niagara-On-The-Lake is a great place to visit because of the many wineries scattered about the region.

We’ve been on several winery tours and even more tastings. It’s an excellent way to spend the weekend.

I don’t normally plug these types of things on here, but there is a particular winery that makes exceptional wine that I just have to mention.

The winery is called Lailey Vineyard. It is a small place located just outside of Niagara-On-The-Lake.

It is run by winemaker Derek Barnett. He is a great guy with an amazing knack for crafting great wines. You need to check this place out, if you are at all interested in wine. I have to say that their Rosé is amazing, even if you are not a Rosé drinker.

Birthdays!

A happy belated birthday to Cat. She’s been a bit quiet as of late, but I suspect that sometime soon she will post something awesome (as usual). You can check out her site to see some great posts that she has done in the past.

Also, a happy birthday to Courtney! She is now the ripe old age of 24 today. She posts quite often and always welcomes guests new and old. So go check her site out as well!

  1. Hi Jorge,

I recently started drinking wine; I think it’s taken over my beer habit. However, I haven’t tried rose yet. I will have to give it a shot.

    Take care,

    Adrienne

  2. I am writing Jorge an email because I cannot comment on his blog. Again. MSN sucks. Ass. That was 3 incomplete sentences in a row that I laid out as if it were nothing. As if I were a professional fragment-sentencer. Maybe I should add some dangling modifiers for good measure. Or maybe I am measured good enough already. Maybe Jorge will not like to receive this email.

    Did I have a point?

Oh yes. I remember writing that perhaps Jorge was making up all these birthdays in order to appear more popular. It was funny at the time. It’s considerably less funny now that my comment was summarily rejected by said sucky MSN, and I had to come allllll the way to my gmail account. The momentum has disappeared. The moment is gone.

Perhaps Jorge will post this to his comment section (suck-tion) for me. If MSN condescends to allow him, of course.

  3. I have always wanted to take a winery BIKE tour of the Niagara region… some of them hit like, ten wineries… which explains the BIKES and not… CARS! 🙂

I think I will do this in the summer, possibly with someone of the opposite sex, and at least one other couple! Maybe you! I’ll keep you posted! 🙂

  4. James – Dude, Mrs. J and I did one of those last year. But we spent the night at the Harbour House hotel. Such an amazing place. It’s a bit on the $$ side, but it’s worth it. They provide the bikes, and the picnic lunch, as well as vouchers for 3 wineries.

Miss Jay – You, my dear, are insane. And I love it.

Addy – Good to see you back. 🙂

  5. Thanks for the shout-out Jorge!

And I will take your advice about the wine – even though you know I don’t drink it. But I’m going to have one for you, since you were nice enough to wish me a happy birthday!

  6. We took part in a few tastings in the lead up to our wedding. Liked it a lot, and thought it was something we should do more often. Then we promptly moved 7000 kilometers away from the closest winery. Frig.

  7. Hey Jorge,

Yes… the cat sometimes eats its own puke afterwards. Generally though we find it first.
the noise allerts us. like an alarm for barf.

I like wine. but only the cheap bubbly stuff…Boone’s i believe its called.
    we have three beer left.

I hope that solved all your problem questions:)

    ~Leah~

  8. Glad you & Mrs. J had a spiffy weekend 🙂

    Happy Birthday to all 😀

  9. I have heard about those winery tours. Get any good photos? (you know me…)
I can’t wait to visit wine country on the west coast sometime in my lifetime. If my memory serves me correctly, it’s quite lovely…
