Trendy Fragile

Trendy?

Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow.

And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go.

It followed her to school one day
School one day, school one day
It followed her to school one day
Which was against the rules.

It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school.

– Mary Had a Little Lamb (Copyright Unknown)

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot people posting song lyrics without any context or explanation. I don’t really know why.

So, in the true spirit of Christmas I thought I would try to be even deeper than them by going back to basics.

You know, kickin’ it old skool

Mind you, I’ve just left an explanation…

Do Not Mark Fragile

The things you learn talking to random people in line.

Turns out that when using any delivery service, marking a package fragile might not be a good idea.

The state of humanity makes me sick. Who would have thought that indicating a package containes something fragile is likely interpreted as please throw this around.

That sucks.

  1. […] most likely offended quite a number of people with my post yesterday about lyrics posted meaninglessly on […]

  2. Some people post song lyrics because they are significant to the blogger who wants to share them with their audience. It is the same as sharing a poem or a quote that touches you. 🙂 Cat

  3. So what you’re saying is… Mark packets “Please throw this around” ?

  4. Woo! Kickin’ it old school *cue 90’s hip hop* People post song lyrics…they do it….they do it because the song means something to them, but most of the time there is no explanation of the meaning of the song. Perhaps they think that the song is self-explanatory. Who knows. People are strange. What does this nursery rhyme mean to you?? LOL… Does it take you back to a horrific childhood event? Are you afraid of lambs? 😛

  5. the spirit of christmas? did i sleep way too long? im pretty sure its only august;) unless christmas is at a different time in ontario…then in that case…happy new year. and im pretty sure mary had a little lamb…isnt really that cool. xo ~Leah~

  7. but what does MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB mean to YOU, Jorge?
i think “fragile” and “do not bend” mean the same thing, really, which is “see if you can rip this to shreds.” p

  8. Hey Jorge…. Just popped by to say hello and see what you have been up to….. Hope you have a great week!!!! Cheers…. Diana

  9. Yeah… never ship anything breakable with a courier… seriously… if you had ANY IDEA what those packages go through when they are shipped… it’s a miracle that any of them arrive in one piece at all… but really, that is the danger of our “just in time” society. And I posted song lyrics! What’s it to ya? 🙂 Just a really nice song that I’ve had stuck in my head… and frankly, I’m hoping that will clear it out a little… Catch you around, chum. James.

  10. Yay for Mary and her little lambs. 🙂 I just caught up with your accident posts. One of my undergrad friends was in a motorcycle wreck that should have been the end of him. Unlike you, he did have to go to the hospital many many times. The first time I met him and realized that he was the guy I’d heard heard about (the accident traveled throughout the community), he said to me “Wanna feel the bolts in my face?” Of course I did. And there they were, right underneath his eye, I could feel the metal plates and the bolts covered by skin and suprisingly no scarring. Crazy.

  11. Love your song lyrics 🙂

  12. I don’t post song lyrics often, but I did last week simply as a way to convey my thoughts during my camping trip. Maybe I should post Hollerback Girl. Finally exorcise the demon that is Gwen Stefani!

  13. I don’t have a problem when a song is posted and a small description is attached explaining the significance of the song. I’m just noticing that on some sites I see song lyrics posted with no explanation.

  14. Oh, I love Mary’s little lambs! They look so cute and cuddly. Of course, if you’ve ever actually been around one, they smell really bad, and they are very stupid. That’s pretty much the story of my dating life, too, come to think of it.
