Today is the First Day of the Rest of Your Boredom…

When exactly was it that I received the itch?

The itch, of course is the need to start a blog.

I've always read other people's blogs, and found a lot of them quite interesting. The idea itself is great: Create a public space where you can disseminate information about yourself without reprisal (well, in the case of those blogs without comments fields).

As interesting as it all seemed to be to others to create, I didn't really want to consider creating one for myself, because who wants to listen to me? Really? Also, in which blogging paradise do I create a home? Do I use a public service, or create my own?

My friends Reay and Shaun have their own. My friend Dave has his on a public service. (You can check them out. The worst thing they have is a little bit of profanity but nothing overly graphic.) And so here were several examples of fun blogs.

And I didn't know what to do. So I didn't do anything.

And then my cousin MSG'd me her new blogspace, through MSN Messegner. And I thought that it would be a good medium to use. So here I am. On MSN. Some people are probably shuddering right now, but what can you do?

I'm not sure how frequently I'll update this space, but I'll certainly have fun writing whatever it is that I write in here.

So thanks for checking it out!

  1. Who’s that handsome fella? The picture on the right says, “Ladies, ladies, ladies–I got what you need.” But the picture on the right says, “Hands off, scuz hags! I’m married.”

  2. Nice! Too bad this is on MSN though. It seems dirty.

  3. Heh.
I only put that picture on the left up for you.
I don’t know how anything can go downhill before it crests, but I seem to have managed that quite nicely.

  4. Well Jorge with a J, I’m proud to be the inspirer of your blog space…. altho the idea had only come to me a mere 48 hours ago. Perhaps some of your intellectual conversations that you have on msn while you’re getting paid for multitasking will appear on here. Have fun:)

  6. […] Of course, that doesn’t explain this new obsession with blogging, does it? […]

  7. […] At the end of January, Barking Space went online. With a little nudge from a few people (most noteably Dave), I took the plunge and started writing online. […]
