I am a Mayor Pain in the Ass

Help Me Grow My City

I don’t normally get into the habit of asking people to click things. At least not on here.

The links I am posting do not benefit anyone other than me. They will not create world peace, nor will they donate money to the poor.

However, I am pretty sure that nothing bad will happen. No viruses or spam will haunt you, so at least there is no risk of annoyance.

MyMiniCity is a web-based SimCity-type game. Every click (you can only click one option per person per day) grows the city. It’s fun to watch. Like electronic Sea Monkeys.

At the outset, you can only grow your base population. After a while, though, other things are unlocked that allow your city to thrive.

So go ahead, and click already. Barkingtowne awaits…

  • Click here to grow my population by one person.
  • Click here to expand my city’s industrial sector.
  • Click here to expand my city’s transportation infrastructure.
  • Click here to reinforce my city’s security force.
  • Click here to improve my city’s environmental program.
  • Click here to improve my city’s business sector.

Sister Cities

Similarly, my friend Rituro has started his own city.

Show him some love…

  • Click here to grow the population of Jeramain by one person.

Elbie also has a rather large metropolis.

But it could always be bigger…

  • Click here to grow the population of Elbiville by one person.
  • Click here to expand Elbiville’s industrial sector.
  • Click here to expand Elbiville’s transportation infrastructure.
  • Click here to expand Elbiville’s security infrastructure.
  • Click here to improve Elbiville’s environmental program.
  • Click here to improve Elbiville’s business sector.

Was it Something I Said?

Randomness

I was talking to a friend about dreams, and the following words fell out of my mouth…

Dreams hold a lot of power. They are a gateway to other parts of ourselves, and to parts of our other selves.

What do you think dreams are?

Charity Case

Riddle Me This…

What’s that size of a school bus, weighs over 1,950 lbs, has 60 legs, and has over 150 feet of bicycle chain?

Why, the Heart and Stroke Big Bike, of course!

The Cause

At the end of this month I will be participating in this event with some of my workmates. I joined them at least year’s event (my first time), and it was a great experience.

This event is put on by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada to help raise money and awareness about heart disease.

Every donation helps, no matter how small. With 1 in 3 deaths in Canada due to heart disease, it affects us all. It’s important to band together to make a difference.

I don’t normally canvass on here, but I thought I would try out the online pledge form.

The Effect

So if you’d like to sponsor me for this event, I would really appreciate it! Below is a secure online donation page. An electronic tax receipt will be sent to you if you choose to donate. Here is the link…

Thank you so much!

Enigmas

My last post was enigmatic, but this was for good reason.

Sometimes, secrets are the best way to stay sane.

Sometimes, it is enough to let people know that something is going on. It’s therapeutic in a way.

I know that it’s frustrating to those who do not know what’s going on, so I shall put forth an idea.

If you feel like it, you can click here. This will send you to a page that contains a game created by some fun individuals.

You may discover the secrets of the internet at this location. At the very least, it will keep you distracted for a moment or two…

Inappropriately Lost

Inappropriately Stated

On a regular basis, I go for lunch with Shatton. We usually go to the food court located in his building to a place called Manchu Wok.

Shatton came up with the verb Manchu-wokking to describe this activity.

As always, with the good and the funnay, I shared this info with Mrs. J.

Last night, we were talking about our plans for today. She wanted to use this magical verb, but ended up leaving out a section of the root word, creating a completely different word…

Mrs. J: So tomorrow I’m going to check out Sears.
Jorge: Sure.
Mrs. J: And for lunch, you’ll be…[Trails off.]
Jorge: I’ll be what?
Mrs. J: I was going to say that you’ll be Manchu-ing with Shatton.
Jorge: That just sounds wrong.
[They both laugh.]

Lost and Found

I posted an article about Lost a while ago. You can read that post here.

How do people feel about this show now?

I remember at the beginning when I would salivate at the mere mention of the word Lost.

Now I don’t care about it at all. I watch it for the sake of seeing how they’re going to rescue the show rather than the folks on the island.

Thoughts?
