Dream Big

If your kids are asking to see a movie and you have grown tired of recycled plots and cookie-cutter animation, you might want to take your kids to the Ontario Science Centre to check out Dream Big: Engineering Our World. Directed by Greg MacGillivray and narrated by Jeff Bridges, this IMAX film addresses the important contributions of engineers, and is the first large-format movie to promote the educational STEM movement (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Steering away from some of the stereotypes that may pop into your head, the film presents some interesting achievements of engineers – famous projects that you have probably heard of, and contrasts them with some heartwarming stories of smaller projects that might not have ever made it onto your radar, but are equally as important.

Clocking in at 40 minutes, and with an upbeat soundtrack, this is a great movie that will inspire your kids by showing them the interesting ways that others contribute to the world – every single day. As an added bonus, you can herd your knowledge-filled children to the rest of the facility to do some exploring!
