A Thought…

…On Taking the High Road

Sometimes, you will hear people talking about this.

Be the bigger person, they say. Maybe even something like it’s for the greater good will pop into the conversation.

There are times, in my opinion, where taking the high road just gives you a better vantage from which to confirm how shitty a situation really is.

And no, I’m not depressed. I’m just making a comment.

  1. yeah … shit happens … that too is life

  2. You know that the first sign of depression is denying that you’re depressed.

The second sign: using elipses in a blog title.

    Third sign: having the clap.

    Dude, you are so depressed.

  3. I always talked to my kids about taking the high road in situations where they were right but not necessarily in the popular format—I took the high road in my first marriage by saying “it’s only money”…and after the initial shock, it was a good philosophy to live by. I would advocate it, especially if everybody else thinks you’re wrong or stupid.
