Here We Mo Again!

Welcome to my 2023 Movember campaign! This year makes the 15th year that I have participated in this worthy cause – and I’m hoping that you all accompany me for the ride!

Day 1

With the pandemic behind us (but still visible in the rear-view mirror) you would think that we have learned to do better – but so many things are still happening in the world. it sounds alarmist, but it’s really the truth. I honestly believe that supporting the Movember Foundation can actually make a difference – and thankfully I see examples of this – tangible examples (people that I know!), and it should us all feel good.

As per the Movember Foundation, a growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides (you’ll notice that this last stat is lower than last year).

It’s a lot – but it’s not an insurmountable obstacle.

Smarter people than I am can tell you more about Movember – I am here to be your local gateway to these fine folks. I will be sharing some posts throughout the month, doing my best to live up to my Movember Move commitment, and I might even be hosting an interesting event!

Yes, I know there is a lot going on in the world right now – but I believe in tending one’s own garden to provide a pocket of positivity in the world. Care to help me grow something wonderful?
