The Madness
I feel that studying a Martial Art is a never-ending process.
I’ve studied a number in the course of my life, and because of politics or other circumstances I have never reached black belt level in any of them.
The closest I’ve been to achieving this is in Capoeira, where I attained the title of Senior Professional.
The opportunity has come up to attempt this level in my current Martial Art.
It’s a lot of work, and has arisen at a time in my life when things are very hectic.
What with a newborn, four weddings, and some weekend getaways, it would seem on the surface that there is not a lot of time to train.
The Method (Which is also Madness)
The last thing I want to do is sacrifice time with family, so I’ve asked for permission to work earlier in the day so that I might be able to make the early classes and help out in the dojo.
It’s crazy enough to work. The only side effect is that I’ll have to go to bed a little earlier, but it will be worth it.
Mrs. J is very supportive of this whole thing. I don’t think I would do it if she wasn’t on side. It really wouldn’t be fair to my special ladies.
Alarming
So yes, this is the enigma that I was referring to last week.
I wasn’t in a position to talk about it when I wrote that.
I also got really busy with some weekend events, so I didn’t have time to keep everyone updated.
Again, it’s nothing to worry about. Just something that I’ve always wanted to do for myself.
Wish me luck!
