Even with the roller coaster that has been the pandemic, we still have a lot to be thankful for – I know that I do! A wonderful family, great friends, an awesome place to work, and so many other things – which is why I take the time every year to raise awareness and funding for Movember.
I don’t think anyone that I know could have predicted this year – it has certainly been different. That being said, it has been different for everyone, which is something that should bring us all together.
And so, here we are at the end of another Movember. As of this moment, 130 separate donations were received totaling $6,194 – with the overall team number being $6,879! Even though we are in the middle of a pandemic, so many people reached out to help with their donations – I am truly grateful for all of you (and those of you who have also given me your encouragement).
I have been wanting to write something about the Mental Health aspect of Movember for a week now, and I figured that the halfway point was long enough along the timeline – no more procrastinating!
At the end of the summer, while driving down an expressway outside of Toronto and observing the passing information billboards (which showed only announcements regarding COVID-19, instead of the usual traffic information), I recall feeling as if I was in a science fiction film. The world had changed so quickly in such a short amount of time. It blew my mind.
