Hard Times

Quests

I think this is the most schedule-challenged time of my life. This is including University, where I was actually taking two courses that overlapped by half an hour.

It’s also one of the most physically demanding things I will ever do.

What about the rest of you?

What have been your busiest times/hardest tasks? I’m interested. It’s nice to know that I could be in great company.

Today…

…I Man-chu’d without my usual partner.

It was definitely not the same… 😦

However…

…I will be making up for it tonight when I violently assist my Nemesis with his quest.

Vague?

Yes.

Good luck, my friend!

Aliens Live in Our House

This image of a House Centipede is blurry because it was late.
I was on my way to bed and I almost missed it as I walked by.

Charity Case

Riddle Me This…

What’s that size of a school bus, weighs over 1,950 lbs, has 60 legs, and has over 150 feet of bicycle chain?

Why, the Heart and Stroke Big Bike, of course!

The Cause

At the end of this month I will be participating in this event with some of my workmates. I joined them at least year’s event (my first time), and it was a great experience.

This event is put on by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada to help raise money and awareness about heart disease.

Every donation helps, no matter how small. With 1 in 3 deaths in Canada due to heart disease, it affects us all. It’s important to band together to make a difference.

I don’t normally canvass on here, but I thought I would try out the online pledge form.

The Effect

So if you’d like to sponsor me for this event, I would really appreciate it! Below is a secure online donation page. An electronic tax receipt will be sent to you if you choose to donate. Here is the link…

Thank you so much!

The Alarming Madness Method

The Madness

I feel that studying a Martial Art is a never-ending process.

I’ve studied a number in the course of my life, and because of politics or other circumstances I have never reached black belt level in any of them.

The closest I’ve been to achieving this is in Capoeira, where I attained the title of Senior Professional.

The opportunity has come up to attempt this level in my current Martial Art.

It’s a lot of work, and has arisen at a time in my life when things are very hectic.

What with a newborn, four weddings, and some weekend getaways, it would seem on the surface that there is not a lot of time to train.

The Method (Which is also Madness)

The last thing I want to do is sacrifice time with family, so I’ve asked for permission to work earlier in the day so that I might be able to make the early classes and help out in the dojo.

It’s crazy enough to work. The only side effect is that I’ll have to go to bed a little earlier, but it will be worth it.

Mrs. J is very supportive of this whole thing. I don’t think I would do it if she wasn’t on side. It really wouldn’t be fair to my special ladies.

Alarming

So yes, this is the enigma that I was referring to last week.

I wasn’t in a position to talk about it when I wrote that.

I also got really busy with some weekend events, so I didn’t have time to keep everyone updated.

Again, it’s nothing to worry about. Just something that I’ve always wanted to do for myself.

Wish me luck!
