I just realized as I started to write this post that I didn’t actually write my usual first of November Movember post. Well, here we are at the halfway mark of Movember and things are going well!
At this point in the month I often reflect on what Movember means to people. The essence of Movember is about helping the men in our lives. Too many men are dying too young – and this impacts the people around them.
We all have partners, fathers, brothers, sons, uncles, and friends that we love. Too many of these men are dying too young, impacting relationships, families, and communities. Donate today and help us build a future with healthier men and healthier communities.
Think about it – the world loses a man to suicide every minute of every day. Supporting initiatives that improve overall mental health will help men come forward to help talk about the challenges that they are having. This can build stronger social connections and help reduce the risk of suicide.
Eleven million men are living with prostate cancer. Since 2006, the Movember Foundation have funded development of five life-extending therapies, three pet imaging radiotracers, and one blood test for prostate cancer.
Back in mid-October Movember brought together a group to talk about masculinity and how it may play into some of the challenges faced in addressing men’s health. You can check that out here.
I am very proud to be raising money for Movember – I could literally go on for hours about it – but then that would take away from the “door-to-door” nature of my campaign.
Please donate if you are able. The impact is greater than you know!
