I Moustache You A Question…

I apologize as I have been a little behind this year. There have been a few things that have contributed to my tardiness, but I am back on track and shaved my face this morning at midnight (when I took the photo on my Movember page).

Movember is here again.

The pandemic has been winding down – but not completely. While we can go out and feel somewhat safe, some are still suffering the effects. Mental health is top of mind to me in this instance – this is one of the reasons why I do Movember every year (not just to grow a kickass ‘stache).

The Movember foundation focuses on awareness in three areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mens’ mental health (which includes suicide prevention).

This is year 14 for me – and I have personally raised over $50K since 2009 – and I don’t plan to stop. There are many people in need of help, and I like to help people.

A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.

Movember’s goal is to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% (by 2030). Since 2003, they have funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world (and this is the 2017 number) and have been shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way that health services reach and support men. They exist to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Many men can’t admit that they need help – usually due to societal pressure. The Movember Foundation works to counter that pressure and make it easier for men to get help. Why not help me help the Movember Foundation in their quest?

Donations are appreciated – but so are positive vibes!
